YAY EASY COSTUME.

This was my comfy costume for Otakon, and really was comfy! And really easy! And really cheap!

The kimonos are made from pink cotton and a white bedsheet I found in the scrap bin in my closet (I told you it was cheap). I used dark blue and light blue cotton for the trim. The skirt is made out of the same fabric, and the pattern was originally made by my mom 20 years ago! The obi is made out of FIVE layers of scrap fabric. The outside is green cotton and is lined with two layers of the white bedsheet, and two more layers of pink taffeta left over from my Estell costume. In the middle of all that is plastic boning to make it stiff. The bone casing tape is left over bias tape from a test corset I made. The half-assed box bow is made from green cotton too. The hexagonal things on her outfit are a mixture of a botched iron-on job and paint.

See? CHEAP. I think this costume cost me like $20.
